Bodie State Historic Park

For those of you interested in history, particularly the old west…Bodie was a California boomtown mining for gold from about 1877 to it’s decline in about 1881. It’s located between Lee Vining and Bridgeport off the 395. Quoted to be a town so lawless that it was described as “a sea of sin, lashed by tempests of lust and passion”. General stores and saloons supplied the miners needs…along with the entertainments of dance hall girls, gunfights, stage holdups, robberies and street fights. Bodie remains to this day the largest ghost town on the west coast. My niece Nicole and I were lucky enought to have the whole town to ourselves via my 4 wheel drive jeep and the following photos are from a Southern California gal tracking thru snow…img_8910bt.jpgimg_9293b2.jpg

  1. These are magnificent. The Black and White really makes it all very telling.
