Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool

The facility is an icon of Southern California swimming (in Belmont Shore) with its lofty rafters echoing close to 40 years. Originally built for the 1968 Olympic Trials, Belmont Plaza has played host to a number of big meets over the years including the 1976 Olympic Trials. It’s 50 meters long, 25 yards wide and has 9 lanes with a constant temperature of 80 to 82 degrees. Man it’s a big-un. They don’t let you shoot it unless you make up some lame excuse (which of course I pulled out of my back pocket excuses). The lighting is terrible but I did what I could 🙂
